DCE Electrical was contracted to undertake the ARTC Solar Hybrid Upgrades across Western Australia and South Australia. The project involved upgrading 38 solar sites along the ARTC Rail Corridor across the Nullarbor. The scope included the installation of new power control cabinets, battery cabinets, solar panels, and regulators, along with the replacement of existing solar arrays and equipment to support increased load requirements. Additionally, the work included installing new cabling and replacing existing batteries and solar panels as needed.
SCOPE OF WORK
Executed civil works, including fencing, Sure-foot frame installation, excavation, trenching, and pre-poured slab setup.
Installed Solar Hybrid Controller, Solar Regulators, 2kW Rectifiers, DC/AC Distribution, 12/24-panel array frames, and 84 x 400W solar panels with marshalling boxes.
Installed conduits, cabling, cable trays, and a new earth connection to the existing ring.
Installed 192 x 1400Ah batteries in 8 external cabinets, 2 x 3500W inverters, and 2 air conditioners with changeover and alarm monitoring.
Recovered and removed redundant batteries, solar panels, controllers, frames, and managed craneage and freight.
