In a data centre, a telco exchange, or a defence facility, cooling is not a comfort consideration. It is part of the system design. The temperature and humidity requirements of the equipment dictate what the HVAC system must deliver, and a cooling failure in those environments is a critical incident.  

DCE’s critical HVAC capability was developed alongside its critical power work – the two disciplines are closely related, and in most DCE projects they are designed and delivered by the same team.
