summary

The Pier Street TE –Network Project involved the refurbishment of the 4th Floor of the Pier Street Telephone Exchange building to accommodate the installation of two new Vertiv ‘PODs’ with 20 ICT racks and integral in-row coolers, and two new smaller Vertiv Smart Rows with 7 or 8 ICT racks and integral in-row coolers.

  • Conducted approvals, audits, and compliance testing for electrical works, including WINS, MOPS, hazard assessments, and switchgear functionality. 
  • Installed new lighting, emergency lighting, GPOs, power supply circuits, and submains, with modifications to existing switchboards and ACB upgrades. 
  • Coordinated fire services compliance, protection for electrical works, and integration of energy meters, alarms, and AMS/BMS systems.
  • Installed chilled water systems, leak detection, CRAC units, and mechanical switchboards, with Siemens controllers and BMS monitoring. Constructed fire-rated rooms, filled redundant openings, and installed raised access flooring in designated areas.
  • Extended fire protection systems, added aspirating smoke detection and emergency speakers, and provided 12 months of preventative maintenance.
  • Integrated CRAC systems and controls into Siemens BMS, with full alarming, documentation, programming, and standard commissioning.
